The Association of Emergency Physicians of Malta is proud to announce its forthcoming AEPM Conference 2024, themed "LIFE-Beyond the Resus room", scheduled for the 13th April 2024, at the Intercontinental Hotel, St. Julian's, Malta.

We extend our warm invitation to all Doctors, Nurses, other Health Care Professionals and students to participate in the event, as we believe that a diverse presence would greatly enrich the discussions and insights shared.

The central theme of this year's conference is "LIFE - Beyond the Resus Room," delving into the challenges encountered by healthcare practitioners in high-stress environments, where critical decisions are a constant demand.

Our Conference agenda was planned to address the challenges faced by frontline professionals.  Sessions will revolve around a professional's well-being and resilience, based on evidence-based solutions. Key topics include the prevention of moral injury, PTSD, burnout, and the management of acute stressors. Furthermore, we will explore ethical principles guiding difficult decision-making processes and address communication barriers, incivility, and the issue of determining candidates for resuscitation

Furthermore. we are pleased to offer 3 workshops as part  of the conference programme.

-Workshop 1 - Will focus on Taking care of yourself, where team debriefing, preventing secondary traumatisation, self-stabilisation and case studies of risky behaviour will be discussed.

-Workshop 2- The second workshop will focus on Communication breakdowns and Incivility.

-Workshop 3- The third workshop directed toward doctors and nurses in their first years of training, foundation doctors, and students. This will focus on Technical and Non-technical skills in the Resus Room.

Further details can be found in the conference programme below. Key speakers will be released on social media and updated on the website
